Project 365 Day 22: Niagara Falls
Spent the day at Niagara Falls so decided it would be a good addition to the 365 Project. Wanted to do something different.

Driving back from Collingwood, stopped off at The Olde Stanton Store in Mansfield and wandered around to see what sort of beautiful shots I could find. This one of a traditional Canadian country house fence just stands out to me – it’s interesting to see how resourceful people were in the past, and how beautifully they pulled it off.
Just at the centre of the Blue Mountain village, a fire pit illuminates hearts and smiles.
Trudeau, one of my friend’s charismatic puggle, has joined us up in Collingwood for the weekend.
Up in Collingwood for the next few days, searching for the Canadian winters, and seems like we found it! Snow and wind leads to a moody shot of the old mills at the port.
Being in Europe for the last 7 years, I forgot how popular seat scooters are here in North America. This specific one, about 60 cm wide, not only is gigantic but is clearly parked under the No Parking sign. I like the composition of the lady on the phone and this scooter, a transportation vehicle out of convenience and not necessity, parked illegally at Giant Tiger on Cannon and Hughson Streets.
I had read about Hammer City Records a year or so ago, so I was quite excited to come back to Hamilton and check it out. It’s a fantastic store, run by three people, Bret being one of them. I went in looking for a Joy Division record, but ended up finding a Warsaw bootleg that is fantastic. The experience is fantastic, listening and chit chatting, even with a Pabst to go quench my thirst. This is a must see, just off of James Street North on Robert Street. They even silk screen their own paper shopping bags!
Really like the composition of this shot. This gentleman was really nice and cute – kind of reminds of me of Martin Scorcese.
Meet my lovely parents! Taking advantage of the mild couple of days right now in Hamilton, we headed up to Ancaster and did a waterfall hop, with a mandatory stop at Canterbury Hills. Back when I was doing weddings, this was a very popular destination for engagement shoots.
My first day of Project 365 in Hamilton features this mounted police officer saluting me with a friendly hello, sticking out his tongue in a goofy and joking way. Always good to be home, where the people and officers engage with you in a friendly manner.
