The dominating rooster in our back yard.

In a town called Castanheira, the people still have animals to do manual labour and to produce milk. This lady guides her kine home after an afternoon of eating in the mountains.
For 50 years now, this man has been selling traditional local cookies on the beach in Mira, Portugal.
Love how in Porto people still hang their clothes outside to dry – this lady has her work cut out for her!
One of the dying trades in my hometown area of Aveiro and Coimbra is agriculture. Many families in the region survived with producing on their inherited lands, for consumption and for sale.
And here all goes quiet..
A serene mood during the sunset at the Atlantic coast this evening.
The memories, those last a lifetime.
Love that the taxis in Portugal are still driving 1980s Mercedes C classes.
One of my favourite things to do whenever I’m home in Portugal is to visit the farmer’s market. There are many, each day in a different place, some with more vendors than others. But going to one is like going back in time. Many of the locals produce at home, and whatever excess they have, they sell to make extra earnings to help the household income. This fresh produce vendor at the farmer’s market in Calvão, Vagos, Aveiro starts to put her items away as the day comes slowly to an end.
